Created by myself and Zoe Bambara, Care Not Cages! is an initiative to provide direct support to folks impacted by incarceration and political education to community members and organizations.
Using the arts to activate!
Through cinema and community conversations, we created a space for incarceration-impacted people and organizations to connect and share resources.
Featured guests from local ATL abolitionist orgs like Gangstas To Growers & Barred Business shared their experiences working against the prison system and provided vital resources for attendees to access their needs, from bail support to re-entry programs.
Based in collaboration
Care best comes from community. So we sought out partners and collaborators across movements, organizations and initiatives to hold this work together.
The fight against mass incarceration is an expansive one. Only intentional relationships and connections can dismantle it.
Creating safe-spaces
Base-building with underrepresented communities requires you to foster real relationships, often face-to-face.
As apart of this initiative, we hosted in-person spaces for people to convene, connect and build trust.

Solving problems that come with recidivism, re-entry and rehabilitation require tangible resources.
By creating a cohesive and comprehensive list of available resources, we provide an easier way to access your needs.
